Cardiovascular Endurance

  • Research shows that individuals who are physically active will have higher levels of cardiorespiratory endurance. Your VO2 max, or the maximum oxygen that you can intake during high intensity activity, can be used to measure your cardiorespiratory endurance. VO2max can be used by our CEWP personnel to create an exercise plan or track your progress (ACSM, 72-76)

  • What to expect:

VO2max Discontinuous

  • The protocol for a discontinuous VO2max test consists of stages which incrementally increase in intensity until exhaustion. Oxygen consumption, ventilation, energy expenditure, blood pressure and blood lactate concentrations are all assessed throughout the protocol. After the test, you will receive a professional report from CEWP staff detailing test findings and data interpretation.

VO2max Continuous

  • The protocol for a continuous VO2max test is similar to the discontinuous protocol, except that it gradually increasing intensities until exhaustion. After the test, you will receive a professional report from CEWP staff detailing test findings and data interpretation.
